


Located on an elevated site at the southern node of Tay Rail Bridge the proposal is dictated by its context through form, materiality and orientation. The two-storey proposal is embedded into the sloping topography in order to minimise its visual impact at street level and maximise exposure to the striking views across the Tay.
This visual connection is strengthened by extensive glazing and terracing to the waterfront aspect that also creates a strong relationship between interior and exterior. The pre-existing natural elements are drawn upon with the stone lower floor firmly rooting the proposal into the landscape and the lightweight, zinc clad first floor mimicking the natural distortion and irregularity of the water below.
