New Build Dwelling

Being situated on the site of a 19th century millpond, this was a very complex project. The plans for our self-build client were, to a certain degree dictated by the site conditions and location. Due to the potential flood risk, as well as the site boundary parameters, the site was bounded to the northeast of the site.

The new build house takes advantage of the sectional level difference between the site and Main Street. The end result is a building with two completely different aspects. Approach from the North, and the design of the building is understated. But approach from the south, and the sharp contrast in materials and form creates a far more striking and dramatic look to the property. The open-plan nature of the interior of the property creates a stunning living space that reflects the landscape of the surrounding area.
