Occupying a prominent corner site in the residential area of Monifieth, the sensitive retrofit of South Church was approached with an emphasis on existing feature retention and maximum habitability for contemporary living. The T-shaped footprint lent itself to a four-dwelling division with the use of vaulted ceilings over the living spaces in the wings creating a sense of grandeur and volume.
Restoration works involved the refinishing of the roof in grey slate to match the existing and fitting of bespoke windows within the existing openings in order to modernise the external appearance and improve the natural light conditions of the interior.
